About this Site and its Purpose
My name's Matt Hayden and I've been promoting various products and services locally and on the internet for years. I have several niche websites running from which I earn money mostly through affiliate marketing. I'm also a keen blogger.
I have several blogs running including one about this city called The Real Perth Blog. Whenever I'm out distributing flyers, I make sure to take photos of interesting local landmarks that I might be able to include in a subsequent post.
Having several years of experience as a blogger and webmaster I've learned a lot about how search engines work. I've built a website about this subject called Seo Tips Australia.
In the last couple of years I've become an avid user of social media. You can see my various accounts in the top right hand corner of this page. I have a website (with blog included) about blogging and social media called Blog Plus Tweet.
I've also racked up quite a lot of content in various niches for Ezine Articles. Being active on social media, I get asked to contribute my observations and opinions on established sites in this niche from time to time. Here's an article I wrote about Twitter, and another short one on upcoming trends for 2015 for Hot in Social Media (scroll down for my contribution).
Having heard many horror stories from small business people over the years I've learned there is much over-charging for services that are really quite straightforward. I've come to the conclusion that it's much more profitable to do as much of your own promotion as possible.
However, with techniques like social media there's obviously a learning process involved. And people often shy away from getting into these tasks because they are unsure how to approach them. Having gone through the experience myself I can quickly and inexpensively help people who want to do these things themselves.
There's an old proverb, which I think is Chinese in origin, that is pertinent here: "If you give a man a fish you'll feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you'll feed him for a lifetime."
